About this guide

Who runs Visit Citrusdal, and how it works

An independent guide to Citrusdal and the valley around it: where to stay, what to do, which shops are open, and what is on. It is built to help visitors, and to send them on to the businesses that make the town worth the drive.

Who we are

Visit Citrusdal is run by Telos Web Dev (Pty) Ltd, a South African web studio that builds and hosts websites for small businesses. We are not the official tourism bureau, the tourism association or the municipality, and we are not connected to citrusdaltourism.co.za. The disclaimer sets that out in full.

Where our facts come from

From the business itself, its own website, or a public body such as CapeNature or the municipality, never from a copied directory. When we could not confirm a detail, the page says "not confirmed yet" rather than presenting a guess as fact.

A few rules we hold to:

What "Confirmed by the owner" means

The badge says who the details came from and when: the business checked its page and told us it is right, in the month shown. It is not a rating or a recommendation. A page without one means only that we have not heard from that business lately.

Who pays for what

Nobody pays to be listed, and nobody pays for a better position. We take no bookings and no commission. When you contact a business, that is between you and them.

The one paid spot on the site is Featured on the noticeboard, and it always says "Featured" wherever it appears.

Photographs

Every photograph is credited on the photo credits page. Businesses' own photographs appear only with their permission. Some pages still use stock photography while we gather pictures of the valley itself, and the credits page lists those too. We never use an AI-generated picture to show a real place, person or business.

What we count

We count page views and taps through to businesses with our own counter. It sets no cookie, stores no IP address and gives you no identifier. The privacy notice explains exactly what is kept.

Something wrong, or missing?

If you run a business here, you can correct your listing, add a business or ask us to remove one, at no charge. For anything else, get in touch.
